HM796 14T Sprocket

I was at the dealer today for some warranty work and the mechanic had time so I had him install a 14 T countershaft sprocket. This is the way the bike should have been geared from the factory. I used to shift into 6th gear at 80 and now shift at 70. I'm not too worried about top end since I don't do track days or go over 100 very often. I spent 90 minutes straight riding 95-100 mph in the Utah desert last weekend and it was enough for me for a long time.

Around town riding is much improved but not dramatic like you will accidentally wheelie.

Just curious, did they charge you for labor to install the sprocket?
I bought the 14T sprocket for my 796 and plan to have them install it during my 600 mile service.

The labor was $49 dollars for .5 hours and the part was $45. I installed the countershaft sprockets on my last two bikes and have to say going to lunch and coming back to having it installed for me with the chain cleaned and adjusted was well worth the $49 in labor cost.

You should get it done at your 600 mile service. My bike has 4,600 miles on it and the dealer said there could be issues installing a new sprocket with an old chain if I haven't been maintaining my chain. They said that typically you should replace drivetrain components together if the bike has 5k+ miles on it. I keep my chain cleaned and lubed every few hundred miles so I should be OK.
