HM 796 -- White or Black? That is the question.
I'm ready to pull the trigger on a 2011 HM796. Just need to decide on which color.
I have seen the red = do not like it. (I know, not liking a red Ducati? )
I have seen the matte black = I do like it.
I have not seen the white = ???
Anyone have an opinion between the white vs. the matte black?
Is the white a flat white?
Pix would be great.
Thanks.

Unless you're a 5'2" woman, buy a used 1100 Sp. Paint it whatever you like. Keep extra money for exhaust, and other mods.

Thanks! That was really helpful.
I'll spend my money, my way.
Thanks for trying though.

What sort of "serious" answer were you looking for?
Ask a serious question next time.

I have the matt black HM796 but was looking for the white one. The white is a matt finish too. Get whichever is available. If you are like me, no matter what color you get, you will eventually like the other one better.
Ignore the 1100 guys that seem to feel the need to compensate for something by saying the 796 is a girls bike. Comments like that pretty much scream "I have a tiny dick!"

Pretty sure white was only available 2010. Only black and red for 2011. The white is a flat finish and looks awesome.

The white is matte too but it's a pearly white not a pure white like the white Monster. It has a little metallic "glitter" in it just like the matte black that is noticeable when the you shine a light directly on it. Also both the matte white and the matte black HM796 have a flat black "nose", so the only difference between them are the tank covers and the tail piece. Since they are both matte, they don't have a clear coat on top of the "Ducati" tank decals, which means you can peel them off if you ever wanted.
I was told that for the 2011 model, the white was not imported to the US since it was not as popular as the red and the black.

The white is a little more "conservative" looking than the other 2 colors.
You also don't get the "cohesiveness" between the nose, the tank covers, and the bottom fork covers since they're not the same color like in the red or the black models.
OK, enough color talk.

Yeah, good point. It would be easier to turn a matte black into a white HM 796 since the front fender is black on both bikes.
