It happened to two of my friends. One had his shoe laces caught and he dropped together with the bike as he making right turn..
The other had his jeans caught. slow Stationary fall as the clutch kept pulling his jeans in.

just never wear laces.
Reminds me of a time when flared pants were king, and I borrowed the parents car (showing my age). After dropping the girlfriend off at a mates place, I drove off rather quickly, unaware of the excess trouser leg caught in the door. That is until the restrained foot was unable to reach the brake, with the result too expensive to mention.

And further more... I run open Desmo belt systems on 8 of my 10 different ducs. never, not once in over a 1/4 million miles and over 15 years have I ever had any close calls. (i always wear proper M/C foot gear too)
But I Manley clicked on this thread to read about all the carnage lol

This is why you should learn how to drive using only one foot, the right one.
I see plenty of folks "covering the brake" for safety while going uphill....

LOLZ Oz-child! Probably a manual tranny. No left foot to clutch = lurch! Makes Mi cringe just thinking about it! So busted.
Yeah, I don't know why people wear laced tennis shoes when riding these or any motorcycle. Only 'Natural Selection' comes to mind.
+ I feel eFFen sexy in leather and boots

but the clutch is by your right foot regardless on the hyper.. so the verdict here is, your pants or shoes will get snagged IF you wear laces and/or pants that have frays in them?

If your in your leathers or at least some decent leg coverings with a proper motorcycle boot (no laces) you can rub your toes on it and you will be fine.

so for those of us who don't wear leathers on the street aside from a jacket and we have proper motorcycle boots with the pant covering them how will we be affected?
