'08 bad ECU reports - Ducati.ms

I searched and found several reports that the exhaust valve doesn't open, and is directly related to bad ECU's on '08 hypers that causes noticeable power loss.

There's plenty of threads on how/why to remove the exhaust valve, but before I do i'd like to test to assure I don't have one of the problematic ECU's.

What's the best way to test that the valve is working properly at a stand still?

HERE is one of the old threads in question; took me a while to find it again.

I found a couple suggestions how to test the valve too, but not sure yet which work (if any). Going to test tonight when I get home.

1. Take seat off, cycle key. Valve will close/open.
2. With the bike started, and the seat off, put it in gear. Valve will open.

take it out and swap it out with a ducati performance ecu that i have for sale and no more problems lol

If You mean it is a DP Race Cams ECU... That would be the best ECU for this bike.

After 30 k miles, my valve is slow to cycle @ key on and times out throwing a CEL, unless I recycle the ing. switch. I just ordered one of these to save my ing. switch from excessive abuse.

duc.EE is nice, but pricey. I found THIS for $35.

I SHOULD wait till my next paycheck for a DP ecu

Got everything but slip-on's already on the way.
