Advice needed for choising a 2-2 exhaust for my hm
I take on the advices from some of you that an after-market exhaust can fix the low end performance. But I am concerning the cost and the look. I want a 2-2 but don't want to spend much.
I saw termi one with ecu sold on pro italia for 2000+ include shipping, which is off my budget. Any other options? Is zard top gun any good? I like the "canon" look of it?

I am a curmudgeon but I don't wnat to sound like one. Well... I guess I don't care if I sound like one.
I'm a tuner (or at least, have always wanted to be one) and my data says they all need to be tuned. Therefore, if you are limited in resources, leave it alone.
These forums are filled with discussions about drivability issues, some (but not all) are instigated by changes to the engine and related systems configuration. In other words, exhaust, and to a much lesser degree, intake changes.
It seems like a lot of riders forget to factor in tuning as part of the package. On top of that there are a limited number of sources for tuning, and even more limited for competent ones.
If you're limited in resources ($$$) your limited investment may make you less happy with your ride if the drivability gets worse.
Doug

It's true that the Termi slips are pricey. However, with the included dp ecu, I didn't have any issues with the bike after the install.
I like LV, but in this case I agree....they don't look as good IMO as the termi cans.

IMHO I think my LV's look great, kinda racy, & they are way better made than the Termies, Termies have a fake carbon wrap around a steel can, which is kind of bogus in my book, and they are NOT a true dual exhaust system like the LVs, they are a crossover. Just my 2 cents. Aloha Alex

you're right they are only a wrap over steel cans but it still looks cool. i did get mine already installed but if i want to install one then LV would definitely be around the top of the list. the LV i believe doesn't come with an ECU, unlike the Termi.

Agreed. I have the LV on my '08 and am very happy with every aspect, looks, sound, performance.
Plus the Termies are kindof 'overplayed' IMO...

You first mentioned low end performance. For overall lowend 'driveability' improvement, a 2-2 exhaust won't do much if anything. You need to richen the air-fuel ratio under 5k rpm, which can ONLY be done with something like the O2 optimizer box that comes with the PowerCommander 5. Nothing else will improve the fueling under 5k rpm.
I agree the underseat Termis are the nicest looking for the bike. If 2k is too much, than maybe the Arrow slipons are your next best bet. But as somebody said, you would need to make a custom map, which means a $300 PC5 and a dyno run, etc... So then you are spending ~ 2k anyway.
