Neutral light is erratic after installing PC5
I just finished installing PC5, double-checked everything, went off without a hitch. (Using stock map, even though I have a cat-elim)
Go to put bike in neutral (I always do before starting), and can't 'find it' (light never comes on). Try for a while. Pull clutch in and say ok fine, I'll just start it in gear. Starts. The neutral light goes on. So it was in neutral all the time. Now, I can usually find neutral when starting (light goes on), but the light will sometimes flicker.
If it's ACTUALLY in neutral, but the light shows it's not, it won't start (unless I pull the clutch in, of course). So in summary, whatever determines that that bike is in neutral (to turn on the neutral light, and thus allow me to start it w/o clutch pulled in) is acting faulty. I've no idea how a PC5 install would affect this. Anybody ever had this sort of problem? As I understand it, the PC5 only involves hooking up to injectors, the TPS sensor and the O2 sensors (my PC5 has the O2 Optimizer box), there shouldn't be any impact on the neutral 'sensor/indicator'. Maybe I need to do a TPS reset via the PC5 menu?
Thx....

Does the PC tie into the gear sensor(neutral) sw like my Bazzaz ?
Usually your trouble has something to do with the last thing you did.
Bazzaz instructions show tapping into the wire allmost right at the motor casing.
I did it on the right side so as not to disturb the wire where it goes into the motor.

pc5 has nothing to do with the neutral light.
some times i have to rock my bike back and forth to get it into neutral (bikes off and parked on a hill)or lightly tap down on the gear shift lever

I have no problem 'finding' neutral. For example, right now, I turn the key and it shows Neutral light. Great. I hit the starter and it fires up, and then suddenly the Neutral light flickers, goes out, and the bike turns off (since it 'thinks' that it's in gear...and the stand is down and the clutch is out, so it shuts off). If I pull the clutch in, it starts and stays running, but then the neutral light keeps flickering. Maybe I bumped into and torqued the neutral-detection cable during my PC5 install (that's the only thing I can think of ) Of course, I don't know where that cable is at the moment. :-)

On my FiL's 2002 Monster 620ie the wire connects to the motor on the rear of it, down low, on the right side. Sort of behind the right foot peg, but on the backside of the motor.
It is one wire and it seems to push onto a "stud" that looks like s screw thread protuding from the motor (albeit, recessed in a hole).
Duc air cooled motors can't be that different from one another, I'd try there first.
