Sliding sliders....
I bought my HM used, although it only had less than 50kms. anyways, the original owner already had upgraded some parts on it which made the deal sweeter. one of them is the slider but i'm thinking if it was installed correctly. If you grab the plastic piece and pull/push on it, the whole slider thing slides about an inch each way. is that how a slider should be installed or is the shaft inside too long for the width of the frame? i'm thinking this shouldn't move side-to-side although it would make sense that the plastic should spin. there's no brand on it so I don't know who made it.
comments?

All the sliders I have ever installed never moved side to side, including the ones that I currently have on my Hyper. They havent even spun to tell you the truth. Something is defiantly wrong especially since they move an inch as you stated, should move at all.

The sliders should be double nutted, a set of nuts to hold the slider, & a set for the motor mount. Take the slider nuts off & check your motor mount shaft & nuts for tightness. Aloha Alex

finally got around to it. the main bolt was 0.50" too long so the stainless steel end pieces weren't engaging the frame basically. got that piece cut and added the extra threads and it's now good.
thanks guys.

I got my hyper secondhand and it was already installed. There's no branding but it looks so much like a speedymoto frame slider. Myb you just need to tighten the outside bolt?

Just a sidenote. If you crash onto these kind of protectors, they´re likely to put the force onto the engine bolt and the case. The latter might break. I´d invest in some fork axle sliders if you really need any.

I'm going to buy the axle sliders from T-rex soon.

From experience it will fall onto the steering bar, sidestand, footpeg, passenger footpegs and if you´re unlucky scratch the sprocket carrier nut and rubber cush drive nuts. Hence a broken mirror setup and that kind of stuff. The slider is too small to prevent that. I doubt it will be able to keep the footpegs unscratched.
I was about to write "go and try", but I advise you not to
