First i ran showroom stock with a PowerCommander PC5 and the Optimizer box.....with provided PC map for stock exhaust and stock air filter. That ran really good...but i'm at 1,000 feet above sea level and the map was lean on top a little. Still i highly recommend this setup. It is well worth the money and the stock bike was MUCH faster.
Then i went to a quick change rear 44 tooth...stock front. Was faster but now the map was obviously askew a little bit worse.
Then i went with the Mivv slip on exhaust. {baffle removed} Tried it first with a stock PC map. It ran better still... but now the map was off down low....good in the middle...and rich on top. I expected that...so i changed to a PC map for a slip on only...stock air filter. Unfortunatly the PC map they provide is for a Leo Vinci UNDERTAIL dual outlet slip on exhaust...and i have a right hand side mounted MIvv slip on..single outlet.
This setup was faster still....but it was lean on IDLE....and real rich on top.
So my only option is a custom map. Ran it up to the World Famous DUCSHOP in Marrietta Georgia and had them make me a custom map.
Got it back today...and it's TITS. I couldn't find a single fault...it runs like a raped ape...goes through the gears faster than ever....blips downshfts like a Moto GP factory Duc {ok i exxagerate a little bit} idles perfect and SMOOOOTH. HIGHLY recommended.
End result > 74.2 horespower at 8400 Rpm...50 pounds torque. Doesn't sound like much but dead stock our 796 puts out 71 hp to the rear wheel. I've seen the charts. I also saw a dyno chart on here with a FULL EXHAUST...Cat elimintor header pipes....DUCSHOP STACKS...Mivv exhaust can and a custom tune...and it put out 77 hp.
I'm happy. 2010 796 Hypermotard..stock headers...stock collector...stock air filter...Mivv slip on exhaust can with baffle removed...PC5 and Optimizer...DUCSHOP custom fuel map.
