GOOD BUY?? 2010 796 Hyper
ebay item Ducati : Hypermotard | eBay
the guy said he wants at least $7000 for it. 2010 with 500 miles. It was tipped over at one point and got cosmetic damage. it was salvaged, and then rebuilt. now it has a reconstructed title.
is this a good deal? blue book on a minty one NOT salvaged is like $7500.

Tipped over? I think it would take more than that to have one get totaled? Sounds fishy.
Blue book is out the window on a salavage anyway.
There are '08 1100' "S" models for 7900 "ish" ASKING on Cycletrader. I've looked at two 1100's in the mid 7's that were perfect.
And this is California - year round riding - out there? snow will fly in a couple of months. Plus the bike market in general - nitch exotic bikes in particular is VERY soft right now. Good time to be a buyer.
IMHO - he's high.

well i dont know about the crash but he said it was minor. Regardless, i knw for a fact that insurance companies salvage out bikes for VERY little ..... but if I could get it for $6000 even would that be a good deal?

let me 1st say, that i have not seen this bike in person, but i believe it is the same that has been on the Phila Craig's for weeks. I also agree with the above that something seems a bit fishy. for what it's worth.... here's the link: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/mcy/2512117424.html

im having trouble selling my 09 1100 for $6500 because it has 28000 miles on it... even though the damn thing is in great condition, all maintinece done on time and fresh everything... its kinda disappointing knowing i paid double that for it 2 years ago

One of my bikes just tipped over in the drive way (I watched it happen) I would normally of shrugged it off and moved on but being as it was a new bike and because the steering stop was bent (bent by .1mm ) but that was enuff for my ins to give me the option to total out the bike.
1 Driveway drop
cost (by someones math) $7500 in damages.

second I would not get it... because I think a good deal is twice as good as that one is.
Ex.
Just bought a 09, 9k mi, 1100 (and paid less then half then you are contemplating spending on this 796.
Canes + 2cents

I wonder why he went with a glossy front fairing rather than the stock matte black that would match the tank covers.

There seams to be alot of hypers for sale in California going for 8 grand with low miles so when you but 2 perfect looking bikes together one with 7k miles and the other with 28k for another $1500 more...than likely they will pick the one with less miles.
