FNG questions Ohlins preload and flush indicators

Just joined the Ducati family with a 2010 1100 sp Hyper

The shop did not have the tool to adjust the preload on the rear shock. I am 105kg so want to wind it up a bit; any how to's out there? Tool needed and what to remove to get in. Don't want to use a hammer on it.

Has anyone put flush indicators on the fairing? Want to ditch the original setup. Hoping to put them on the little scoops.

Thanks in advance

Hi Andrew

You will need a C spanner to adjust the ring nuts on the shock. Surprised dealer does not have one?
But you are probably wasting your time trying to set preload on a standard spring given your weight. Standard spring is rated for approx 70kg rider...

My weight is 100kg without riding gear, so I have replaced the standard Ohlins spring with a heavier unit to sort out rear spring rate & preload. Part number I have is 01092-49/130.
This has made a significant difference to the bikes handling. You will also probably want to consider heavier springs for the forks also.
Troll around on this forum as there is plenty of info posted about setting up Hyper suspension.

Nick

Thanks for the info Nick.

So the Evo is the same as the 08 suspension wise? Have searched and all the posts are for 08's no info for Evo Hypers.

Bump on the indicators :-)

Pretty sure they have the same rear shock & spring set up. The SP is slightly taller with more suspension travel, 11mm.
