Mirror relocation dilemma

Greetings,

Just got my HM796 and I am trying to install the DP LED mirrors:

DP HM Mirrors

I was hoping to keep the stock hand guards, not sure if that's possible.

After mounting one of the mirrors and noticed that if I leave the clutch lever assembly at its original angle, the mirror would not be vertical but angled toward the rider. (due to the shape of the half bracket included in the kit)

However, if I rotate the clutch lever assembly down (see attached photo),
the lever would no longer be aligned with the hand guard.
I tried to rotate the hand guards down but they don't rotate since
they are keyed to a notch in the handle bar.

So I guess I HAVE to remove the hand guards? If I do, it seems I still have to rotate the clutch/brake levers down from their original position.

Anyone install the DP LED mirrors? Suggestions?

Thanks

I notice on the link to the DP Mirrors it says "Notes: Compatible with racing hand guards part no. 96764708B" So I think they want to get you for the whole assembly, must not work with stock.

I looked here to see what mirror brackets you were using, I need to get a set, but not sure if the the Rizoma fit on the 796. I see the DP mirrors you used come with the brackets though. I'm having a hard time finding brackets that say they'll fit. I guess I'll have to make some calls.

Good luck with your setup.

I used the half-clamp that came with the kit. But they have the threaded
mounting holes at an unusual angle. When mounted on the clutch perch,
the mirror rod is not vertical, but angled toward the rider. That forces me to rotate the clutch lever assembly pretty far towards the ground.
Not sure if my description above makes sense.

The Rizoma adapter clamps seem better designed, I wish I can find a photo showing their side view.

Description makes sense. Sounds like this is why Ducati doesn't list it as compatible with the stock guards.

If for any reason you don't take them, I'm interested.

The CRG Hindsight mirrors work better than these... Just sayin. As for signals, the Rizoma LEDs bolt up under the tank fairing, most sano.

They have been mailed out, and on their way to San Fran. Thanks for the interest though.
