Technical Q: putting EVO SP forks on std "S" bike
I have the opportunity to buy some EVO SP forks to fit to my hyper rebuild.
any idea if I can just swap these over with my stock triples and brake caliper carriers?... my concerns are whether these forks are the same diameter, and whether I need an additional rear linkage or something on the rear suspension to make these taller forks work.
thanks for any knowledgeable advice.

Good question, I would start by compairing part #'s from your bike with the EVO SP, such as rear shock, frame, linkage, thriple clamps, calipers, etc.etc. Aloha Alex

I think the forks will work but you need to find out what you have to do to the rear to get the "SP Stance".
More ground clearance should work well for you if you go off the road again.......

I'm 99% sure the forks are the same, only the travel is 30mm bigger.
Inner tubes remain 50mm, outer tubes are 57mm - 53mm, which makes them a direct fit into your S clamp.
Brake caliper carriers are 100mm, your Brembo Monobloc are direct fit too.
Dunno what price you can get on them, hopefully a deal as good as the one you had on your wheels
But from what I remember, someone in Montreal wanted to buy an Evo SP and swap the fork with the NCR fork.
I told the dealer I was interested by the SP fork. When I saw the price, changed my mind.
A 46mm Ohlins with forged clamps is cheaper...

thanks, it definitely is price-dependant, but I found a guy who has a salvage EVO SP, and while im purchasing the dash and a few other parts I'm checking on the forks just in case. would love to have a bit more ground clearance...(for when I go off road)

If you're looking for more ground clearance, then it's one way to do it for sure!
Another way would be the Race Tech cartridges, which can add an extra 10mm of travel.
A freaking awesome way would be a Marzocchi Shiver 50 USD from the dirt world with adapted fork bottom... That would give you offroad fun
The rear height can be adjusted on the S with the adjustable link.
I dont think the shock on an Evo SP is any different than the one you have on your S
You got his dash from an evo sp to fit on your S ? Does it work ?
I'm very curious to know about that !

good point about the dash, don't know. I've been told I have to reflash the whole thing, why would an EVO be different from an S? it's actually been pretty tough getting good solid answers on how to get a new dash for this bike.
