engine light after decat?

My 796 has ~ 3500 miles on it. About 100miles into running with the cat removed, the engine light suddenly came on (it did seem to occur under a somewhat rare situation of me allowing a lot of extra engine breaking and slowdown during decel, with the typically maximum amount of popping...maybe it's related to the decat, maybe not). Any thoughts? Engine still sounds/feels fine, FWIW.

I still have the PC5 in the box and may finally get around to installing it this week; thinking that would solve the engine-light if it was due to subpar fueling readings (or, once the engine light goes on, do you have to hit the mechanic to get things 'reset'?).

I have run S4Rs with open exhaust and stock ECU, and I mean I was running it like I stole it !! and nothing like that ever happen so you my be digging hole in wrong spot.

Go back to the last thing you did.
Check the conn's and wires to 02 sensors.
I assume you unpluged them when you removed and reinstalled them. Sensors tight in pipes ??

ya your best bet is start at the o2 sensor
