Thoughts on 08 1100s hyper

Im looking at getting a 2008 1100s hyper including the FULL Termignoni carbon race exhaust with racing ECU and high-flow air filter, Ducati Peformance steering damper kit, Speedymoto open clutch cover and anodized pressure plate with 5,000 miles for $9500. The thing is its about a 9 hour drive to pick it up and i have never drove one let alone seen one in person yet. The things look amazing in pictures and videos. Do you guys have any thoughts on the price, or what to expect from this bike?

The dealer also put a brand new set of Pirelli Supercorse tires on it

Might also be great to include the dealer's name so to get background in knowing who you are dealing with. The Hyper is the most fun bike I have ever owned. If you are on the fence, just pull the trigger and get it! Make sure the service is up to date, and at 7,500mi you are looking at one of the larger services...(i.e. about $800), so maybe you can use that to negotiate.

Like said above, these bikes are super fun. I have owned R1's, R6's, GSXR's, TL's, Monsters and this bike by far is the funnest out of all of them, and performs awesome as well.

Price is a little high, but you are buying from a dealer so thats to be expected.

I bought my 06 999r on ebay sight unseen. I had never ridden a Ducati before, had no idea what to expect. I was very nervous but pulled the trigger anyways. I would normally never do something like this. I do not recommend this for everyone, any transaction carries risk. Having said that, the bike was in perfect shape, it only had 2200 miles on it, rides absolutely incredible, and i got a fantastic price on it! Weigh the risk/reward options and go from there. Buying a Ducati is not a rational descion, it's an emotional one! Not recommended for everyone but I have no regrets.

What is the 7,500 mi service include? My buddy knows alot about motors, he has never worked on Ducatis before tho, so im thinking if its checking valves and the timing belts thats something that we could do to try and save the big mechanic fee.

When talking with the dealer and looking at the pictures he said its like brand new just wish it was closer so i could look at it and ride it. He was asking $9800 for it and i offered him $9500 out the door and he accepted, Im on the fence right now bank approved the loan they are just waiting for me to "pull the triger".

I bought mine sight unseen from a (Harley) dealer in Louisiana. I'm in Arizona. All I had was pics and an assurance that is was "brand new".

It only had 43 miles on it, yes, only 43 and totally stock. I got it out the door for $9500 back in October 2009. However, I had to pay taxes in AZ and shipping to my door for an additional $1000 total so basically $10,500.

When the shipper picked it up, he notice a scratch on the rear "wing" probably caused by some Fat-assed, chain-wearing, Harley rider failing at getting his hoof over the back of the bike while getting off of it. (I'm not bitter though )

Either way, the deal was done so on the truck it went.

The scratch is still there today, although I did color it in with Black Sharpie to make it less noticable.

Pull the trigger, you won't be sorry.

Dave

If it's 9h of curves, the tire will be done by the time you get back.
If it's 9h of highway, it will be square
