Quick turn throttle mod?
I read a post on here a couple weeks ago about throttle mods and thought I'd give it a try with an R1 throttle (I think it was Dave that posted he swapped the tubes and grips?). I got the throttle in and...it won't fit. No matter how much I try it just is too big and the inner spacings are all wack. Am I supposed to shave it down and get spacer washers for the throttle housing? Or was an entirely different R1 housing used with the throttle tube and grip (wasn't specified and thought it was an easy swap out). Thanks!

Curious. When I was reading up on swapping the throttle with the Yamahas... I read R6 '04-06. That's what I have, and it works brilliantly. I don't know what else to tell You, other than: Try the R6 tube.
Which Hyper do You have?

Mine worked.
However, everyone says that the R6 throttle is a quicker turn one than the R1 throttle but requires some mods to fit.
Dunno.
Mine worked.

The R1 throttle shouldn´t help you as someone measured it was the same diameter than the Hyper´s.
The R6 has a 41mm cam as compared to the 37 something of the Hyper. You will need the R6 throttle housing as well. It´s worth it, good mod. Should run you about 30-40$ used.

there are a couple of different r6 throttle tubes. one is the same size as the r1 tube. i was able to get the larger one to fit into my 1098 housing with a little dremel work.

RJ11 and RJ15 throttles are the same. So 06 onwards.
