Opinions on riding with a passenger?
I'm in the process of buying a HM 1100S for an everyday commute, occasional weekend ride and riding with my wife. I'm most curious to see opinions of how comfortable the bike is with a passenger? Seems like because of the loads of torque and relatively flat seat that it would be really comfy for riding 2 up.

It is way better than the Ninja ZX-6R I had before it. Power wise I barely notice the extra body, but the seat (even the dp comfort) leaves me numb after 60-80 miles so it is no tourer. I Mainly commute on the bike which is shitloads of fun.

Only ridden with my wife around the neighborhood and even with the 796 it seems pretty comfortable and stable and I'm shocked that I still feel like I have a decent power; prob bc it's torquey. Like to here others' opinions on this.
And if she's worried about needing something to lean back on you can look at this thread: Passenger Back rest?

I've ridden 2 up for more then a week at a time on the old style Multi, the new Multi, the Diavel, and owned an ST3. I think the Hyper is the best 2 up bike Ducati makes, or has made.

If you have the 2-1 exhaust, the pax's right leg (ankle) winds up pretty close to the pipe. Even with the little shield for the pipe in place, it's hot there. My g/f is tiny but she says it's not bad, aside from that.

I had a girl on the back one time... She didn't weigh much, power and comfort for me was not hampered... she had a lot of fun. Best 2-up sb around. If somebody made a backrest, that would really be something. Torque... I really had to take it easy on upshifting hillclimbs... With that DPQS... front wheel always paws. for her!

Does great 2 up wheel stands, however having said that I have removed the passenger pegs to moderate the consequence of such an urge.

I saw a guy on an R1 do that on Temple St. today, stepped back, left leg first... Popped it up, standing on those passenger pegs, he rode that for three blocks! Reckless abandon worthy of license revoke-action. I don't risk it with Cali Oinkers. Besides, Mi Hyper would spill oil from the crankcase breather if I did that... It's that K&N filter type breather... Thinking of picking up the billet STM piece to eliminate that hazard.

90% of the ride time, i have my wife with me. She is tiny and doesnt weight heavy. I dont have to do much rear shock adjustment too. In fact she made the bike more planted on the ground and stable. So she doesnt take up much of the sitting space either. The hyper do just fine to pillion. But if its comes to riding few hundred miles in a day, its a different story already.
