Sprocket advice
Going to pick up a new chain for my 08' HM and was wondering if its worth it to change the sprocket gearing round little.
Drop a tooth from the front n add few to rear to add little more low end /mid TQ in exchange for some top end?
Since ill have the chain off thought id do both if its worth it but not overly enlightened on this so i thought id tap the wealth of knowledge that is this forum I appreciate the feedback

So 1 off the front and rear stock.
Any noticeable low end gain or top end loss from that?

IMHO, some people don't like going to a smaller front sprocket, because of the extra chain stress, expecially for a 520 chain.
On a 525 chain this not that much of a concern, but I personally would rather keep the 15t & go 2 teeth up on the rear of a stock bike, and just 1 tooth up on a modded motor.
Aloha Alex

I'm on a HM 796...but i suppose the design is the same as yours. I first went with a 14 tooth front and it was great...but after a while i was noticing that no matter how well the chain was adjusted...the smaller front made the chain slap the swingarm when engageing first gear...and again on the first to second gear shift. It got annoying so i put the 15 back on the front and then bought a 44 tooth steel sprocket and the carrier. It was expensive as hell....but no more chain slapping. It's civilized now.
I kept the 525 chain. The carrier was $170.00 and the sprocket was $56.00. I also bought a new gold chain....because now the chain was too short...$80.00. I know that's a ton of money....but to me it was worth it.
14F X 41R is the same mathematical overal ratio as 15f x 44R.

Re:
I think I am going to just replace the rear sprocket and stay. Should I stay away from aluminium sprockets and stick to steel? Which is the best brand?
