Basic raising/lowering of the rear question

When raising or lowering the rear (adjusting the link provided on the S model) is it necessary to put all the weight off the back wheel by placing the bike on some sort of centre stand ? The Owner's manual makes no mention of this.

Thanks

So you just leave it on the side stand and follow the instructions in the manual, doesn't all that weight on the wheel risk stripping the threads of the link ?

Anything I should avoid or be careful about (do's and don't) ?

Thanks

Nothing special, just break loose the jam nuts and twist the rod, on the kickstand is fine, just make sure the heim joint are aligned up with each other. Aloha Alex
