HELP - Can the stock ECU be "Flashed" with a new program?

I'm looking at a used 2008 Hyper (non S) that has 4500 miles and an aftermarket exhaust.

From what I read here (thank you!) I knew there needed to be an ECU change to map the ECU to the pipe.

The shop is telling me the the stock ECU has been "Flashed" with a new program to match the pipe. SOUND REASONABLE?

The bike looks great, started pretty easy from dead "cold" - in hot temps. I think it had been parked in the showroom a while - they had to hunt for the key. Idle was smooth and the throttle seemed to pick up clean from idle - but that was parked with no load on it.

Did not get to ride it, owner of the shop was away and the Employee's said only the owner can okay that...

Would a test ride be normally okay for a ready buyer?

yes the stock ecu can be flashed using products like protune, rexxer and other methods. Usually if a protune or rexxer is used, the protune or rexxer unit is kept with the bike to allow you to go back to stock or load different flashes depending on changes you make to the bike.

what pipe(s) were on it? Was it a full system?

The one shop Ive been talking to says they use the nemesis program that they use to re program the stock ECU. They use it in conjunction with the dyno.

What does the startup display say ?
Mine scrolls " Redline Performance " as they did my reflash.
Says "race" with DP pipe ECU
