Make your own rearsets (cheep)
Ok I have been trying to figure out a way to make my HM have race shifting without buying a whole mess of expensive parts.
Parts required,
1-race shift SBK lever.
1-set of (stock or aftermarket) SBK rearsets
1-SBK rear brake assembly with lever.
I am going to post pics after I get my parts back from power coating.
But basically you use the mounts for the passenger pegs as your new main foot peg mounts. use the top bolt hole as a direct mount up and create a small 2" extension from the lower mount on the bike to the lower mount on the rearset.
Once you have your pegs mounted you will notice that the peg position is mostly perfect.
then with a band saw or something smiler, cut the old peg mounts off the stock footrest holders so they are flat allowing the shifter and rear brake lever to pass by freely. (you will have to drill and tap holes for the SBK brake to bout up.)
then go get the stock black mounts that have been cut and modified to allow the passing of the levers. and have them painted or power coated so everything will look pretty.
total cost less then $100
and pics coming next Monday.
I hope the Ducati snobs don't attack this thread because of the unorthodox idea I presented.

sounds like hell ,but would love to see it once you finished
i thought of something like yours. my buddy has tons or rear sets left over from race bikes ans i was going to weld something up mixed with the stock set up but thought it would look like crap.
but i feel your pain, most sport bike rear sets are $200 range and anything for a ducati costs a arm and a leg
good luck and looking forward to seeing your creation
you crazy islanders
