DP steering damper hits yoke and bar clamp
I'm having a problem with the DP steering damper that was mounted on my Hyper 1100S. The damper itself(the black housing) seems to hit the clamp holding my handlebar, this is only when I twist the steering completely to the right. On both ends it also seems to rub on my top yoke. It seems to tilt forward when the steering is on it's max turn. Anybody else also having this problem? and even more important, know how to fix it

Mine hits. The solution is don't worry about. It's a problem that Ducati has been ignoring since 2008. The really problem is the damper leaks after awhile, I contacted Gubellini, the manufacturer they said they would fix it. I just have to send it to them. If that actually works I'll post, but it's so close to August, I should probably wait and send it in September.

luckily the damper on my bike hasn't leaked yet after 10k miles, but even if it should, we have lots of suspension shops(for bikes) near me so that wouldn't be a problem. But this issue isn't just isolated to me then? Too bad Ducati doesn't do anything about it though.

ciao ted,
did you send your defective damper in to gubellini, and if yes ... did they fix it?
am interested, as i have a dp damper as well, and have the same issue of the gubellini unit leaking.

Not Yet, I have trackdays on Tuesday, and Wednesday then it's off to Italy with it. The email I recieved back when I questioned them about a rebuilt kit was from someone who's last name is Gubellini. A good sign, They said send it to them they'd fix it. Cost, in any? Although sending something to Italy at the beginning of August, is just like waiting to send it until September. I assume it will be a couple of months before I would know if it actually is going to work.

if you're shipping it to Italy, be sure to send it as a "signed for" package. Mail gets "lost" in Italy all the time.
