Quick double check with you folks that changed your Shock or Ride Height Adjuster.

I'm going to the hardware store in a few hours to pick up an extra long hex socket to hold the lower shock bolt that is deep in the swingarm on the left side of the bike (you know, the bolt where people keep losing their sockets in). For anyone that has taken this off, is the left side also an 8mm hex bolt like the right side? I just want to make sure before I come home with the wrong socket. Thanks!!!

for the 796 its 8mm allens both sides ,im guessing the 1100's are the same
i used one side socket allen and one side L wrench allen backwards.it comes off every easy.then after the bike is held in the air i tap it out with a small screw driver.

yes it is the same as right side hex. Like el tardo, I just use a standard hex key with the long side in the swing arm and a piece of tube on the short end as a lever to undo/tighten.

Thanks guys! Got it done last night. A little nervous in the beginning, I slowly tapped the bolt toward the left side till I got to the shock and then the dog bone came off easily. Pop the ride height adjuster in, tightened everything back up, had a beer.

Thanks again!
