Wicked hard clutch pull on my 09 1100s
Anyone have any easy solutions to a very hard clutch pull? I know its "dry" and all but the pull on my 1100s is going to cause me some issues if I dont loosen it up. My dealer said I can either get a new master cylinder or take 2 "opposing springs out of the clutch plate assembly by removing the cover and simply taking two springs out. Apparently there are 6 in there and not all needed? Does that make sense? Is it as simple as an allen wrench and a screwdriver? I have squeezed another 1100s that was parked where I work and it was not as hard. Any help wpuld be appreciated.

Mi advice to You is this: Do not remove the two clutch springs... Buy a Yoyodyne Slave. They have a lifetime warranty and Ca-Cycleworks imports them... You'll have it in two days if You order from their website. Since I changed to this slave, clutch pull was noticeably lighter.

Did you buy your bike new or used, and if used, do you know if it's had the springs changed? Also, make sure there's not a problem somewhere with your clutch. Failing either of these, then the aftermarket slave is probably a good idea for you.
I actually upgraded the springs in mine with the TPO stainless steel race springs. The clutch pull is noticeably harder than before but I don't mind and I LOVE the firmer engagement.
Paulimoto pressure plate, TPO spider retainer, TPO SS springs and titanium bolts... i love my clutch!

Does your bike have "shorty"levers installed?
If so, the longer standard levers will give more leverage.
Reducing clutch springs would only be a last resort, if at all.

No need for terminator hand to operate levers

Increase slave size 30 EVR, change fliud and bleed properly .
Had a clutch Pull like my 82 bevel after fitting H/D clutch springs
now with the EVR better than stock feel and light in traffic
reduction claim 20%
no need for terminator hand to operate levers

hehe I just fancy the pyramid eye logo on the Yoyodyne "Overthruster"... what a name, OverThruster... and that magnesium finish really compliments the cases. I do believe they come in black, too, but the mag finish is what sets them apart IMO
New springs, screws, caps, slave and a bleed should set it all right.

With easy pull slave cylinders, it implies they will have less throw due to greater volume. Make sure it allows full engagement as I put an evo slave cylinder on my KTM 990 and it cost me hundreds in clutches till I realized the new bling slave was the problem.

thanks all .. seems like a trip to the dealer and a costly fix. Is the slave cylinder the plastic bobble that holds the clutch fluid? On a scale of 1-10 ( 1 being removing the seat lol) where does this fall? I think I may try to remove a couple of springs just to see where it gets me. Cant hurt right?

I bought it with only 1100 miles on it and it has the origional clutch cover so doubtful the springs have been replaced. I am just looking for an easier pull.
