Lowsided...First Time Ever
Well, it finally happened, I took a spill on the Hyper. On July 4th of all things. First time I've gone down in 7 years of riding. I was going a little too fast on surface streets and spun the rear up by getting on the throttle too much on loose conditions while turning left and got the bike crossed up with a little tank slapper action and came off. Bike lowsided on the left. I walked up to it, killed it, picked it up and made the short ride to the house. It was at the end of a good ride at least.
I hit my head, but not a scratch on me, not even a head ache...I was in full leathers, they got a little rashed up though. The crash was all my fault and I should have known better, but the bike isn't too messed up. I'm more pissed about my sweet Gary McCoy replica RX-7 being worthless now than the bike being damaged. Guess I'll replace it with the black Collin Edwards replica.
The Speedy Moto frame sliders did a great job saving the bike, damage isn't too bad. The Sato rearsets peg broke off after breaking the fall and the shifter got bent. I had a DP tank cover on that doesn't look terrible either, but it didn't save the fairing, it's got a ground down spot on it.
So, the only parts I really need to source are: the left faring in red, left or right mirror/handguard and left CF exhaust cover. I've been looking in the classifieds and eBay with little success, but if anybody has these parts they want to sell hit me up! I may have to reach out to the aftermarket for this stuff.
All in all, I expected to go down sometime in my life...thought it would be at the track pushing too hard. Pride being damaged is the worst part about it. I thought I had it saved at one point. I need more dirt skills. The bike ain't too bad, I'm not hurt, I know what I did wrong and nobody saw it happen. Could be a lot worse
P.S. I got some stuff up for sale in the classifieds, buy my sh!t to help fund my quick repair job. Taking this bike to Laguna!

Dude, glad to hear you came out okay, hopefully you find everything you need quickly and get it back to where it was. We should meet at Laguna, I'll be there working in the Motowheels booth on Saturday and Sunday, might even be there Friday evening depending on work.

For sure, I'm riding out there solo and meeting some other Vegas cats there. This if all goes to plan. Getting back in town from Panama City on the 16th and should have parts waiting to get put on, then I'll ride out Thursday for the festivities of the weekend.

I'm on the verge of having my bike back and start reassembling, gonna be close too - but dammit if I'm gonna be late to the party! I have four other bikes that are getting a complete repaint during all this hoopla, but I am rocking right now so I'm not worried.
Hey, I have Alexio's Hyper just sitting waiting for parts, tell me what you need and I'll paint fake versions of those parts to keep him fooled the next time he comes over!

Hahaha, I think probably just the left fairing now! I'm not worried about that so much, I run the bra all the time for the tank bag and luggage, so the blemish will be covered.
I just ordered the Ducati Island tickets for the race, I have to go now!

Sorry to hear about the crash. You sound fine, I'm the same way I once trashed myself and the bike but I was more pissed off about destroying my 5 day old Nicky Hayden Laguna Replica Corsair.
