Making your exhaust pipes look new again

Well, since I still have to wait for my papers to import my bike, I figured I could freshen up the bike and clean it up a bit. One thing which bothered me from the very first moment I saw the ad for this bike up untill an hour ago were the exhaust pipes. The pipes were corroded and the cat. looked really, really awful. Since, unlike on my (ex)749, they're not protected they corrode quickly(had the same problem with my SV650S).

So I set off to clean it up

Before

After

Now, since I haven't started her yet the exhaust is silver-ish, but this will change to a gold color when it's been on for a minute.

I used grit 150, 400, 800, 1200 and 2000 wet or dry sanding paper, took me about 30~45 mins. I'm guessing.

Do you have any plans (upgrades/mods) for the bike?

I'm planning on getting a full zard pipe set for it, or, just drill out the butterfly valve in the exhaust and get the cat replaced by a piece of piping welded to the original pipes. Not much more mods I can think of at the moment.
