Stacks and new springs on 08 S

Hi, i've been lurking here for a while, about a month 1/2 i went to check the new monster 1100 with the new shotgun exhaust and i end up buying this 08 s with 1000 miles on. It had some goodies on it already. One thing i notice was the front suspension did not inspire confidence, liked the motor and good brakes, seating position great. So i checked the forum for guidance with front forks.
Skip to last Friday i went to pick up my girl at European Cycles in Middletown NY where i left it to do the springs, cams and stacks. Wow, this thing pulls like a freight train, the noise after 5k it's intoxicating i love it. Any way, i've gone with .85 springs, DP cams and the DP chip and Duckshop stacks, bike it's putting 94 Hp and 69 pounds at the rear.

Nice setup... the only thing that bike lacks is miles. Which I'm sure you'll remedy! Sounds like the bike was used to goto the mailbox and back to the garage. Enjoy!

Motor set up

Greetings,

I have the exact same set up with the exception that I have a light weight fly wheel, light weight ergal rollers and 14T CS sprocket.

I put the cams and stacks on at the same time, so I can't comment on the effects of those mods individually, but the combination of the engine work and light flywheel make the bike an absolute blast to ride.

Ducati should sell the bike set up this way...by the way I have 11,000 miles on the bike and I have not had a single issue yet, other than rear tires don't seem to last very long.....

Try the ride around the resevior at the head waters of the Delaware river, (I cant remember the name of the town, Fleishmans?) not too far from you and a great ride on a hyper....

Best regards,

I forgot to mention, i've done the flywheel also, the bike revs very fast now, i also mounted Michelin pilot pure on, i made around 150 miles in roads around Bear mountain. They feel neutral getting in to turns, very grippy, good feedback from the front. The new springs made a huge difference. I went with .85, i weight 200 pounds. i can now use the front brake the way i like it, hard and the bike feels planted over rough or smooth roads. I also installed a Scotts steering damper and a new clutch slave, makes it easier in traffic.
So, i picked up a total of an extra 10 hp (84 to 94, torque remain same at 69) with DP cams, Duckshop stacks and a new map, and the lighter flywheel makes it revs so much faster. European Cycles also took care of the play in the gear fork that sometimes can get the selector stuck, (never happen to me) they said. My idle and occasional stalling are now a thing of the past. Once this bike is dialed in properly it's so much fun to ride. It's my first Duc and one of the most enjoyable bikes i've had the pleasure of riding, puts a smile on my face every time i trow a leg over.
Before the Hyer i had a KTM Duke 690, 640 and 620 (i like singles). I also had a bunch of BMW GS that i used to travel around the country.
Maybe i'll try a MTS for those duties.
