What to look for when buying a hyper?

So in a few hours I will depart to pick up my new hypermotard 1100S , well, at least new for me 1300 miles away(for the whole trip). I've done a background check on it with the dealer and they said the bike was good, but that was 4k miles ago so who knows. Besides the apparent gear shifter getting stuck, is there anything else I should look out for? I've owned a 749 but that's a whole different ballpark from a air cooled 1100cc I'm guessing, so you can't really use any knowledge gained from that to judge this bike right?

Even though I will be getting the bike even if it has a few flaws, I would like to know what they are so I can knock off a couple of bucks to get it fixed. I've searched around on this forum a lot but I still feel I'm lacking a bit in knowledge about this bike.

If anybody would be so kind as to tell me what the main things are to look at when buying a hyper, I would really appreciate it

Well, I just got back from my journey, pretty tired.

The bike looked absolutely great, but when I went to ride it, it cut out after 2 streets and wouldn't do anything, not even the dash wouldn't turn on. Called the seller and he came and picked me up; the battery was moving freely and it snapped the ground wire straight off. Fixed it temporarily and the bike was just amazing, but I have to get that battery thing fixed.

I just know I'm going to hate those white wheels :P

I never ride in the wet either, but I just tested the rear brake and got some brake dust on it. You have to clean these wheels once every ride I'm guessing, looks stunning though

well my rear wheel is gloss black i run speed detailer over it as the hose and chaomos leave water marks. the front wheel has white spokes and 1/2 blk rims so its not too bad i just whipe the rim off...the brakes cover so much of the center of the rim you cant tell too much...depends how fussy you are, everyone says my bike looks brand new still, bar the tyres...but i catually like washing things, car , bike , girlfriend!, hell even the dog!

you'll love it man!
