Who here tracks their Hyper?
I'm just in from my first track days ever and on the Hyper.... coming from a fireblade before, this was a big change to really hustle around on. I was touching boots down all over the place even taking it "easy".
Love the motor and the transmission - hate the pegs. I know rearsets will make a big difference, but can anyone who has fitted them please comment on how much difference they really make? Something tells me I should get a 600 ratbike if I really mean to do a lot of trackdays, but I rather liked hanging with a (stock) gixxer 750 on the straights.... (and getting him on braking/turns)

I'd be interested in hearing too, as I'm pretty set on buying a hyper 1100evo.

Myself & and a group of Hyper buddies do a lot of track-days here in SoCal, they can be an absolute BLAST to ride on a track, especially on a tight track, where the Hypers can rule, but they DO require set-up, rearsets & "jacking up" the suspension for ground clearance is a must, as the problem with the std Hyper IS ground clearance, I'm not sure about the EVO SP thou.
Once you get the Hyper dialed in, she will do great on the track, but remember this is not a true sport/track bike, its a FUN Hooligan bike that is track capable, and when you start to get the hang of the Hyper at the track, and start to smoke the sport bikes, well its........"priceless" Aloha Alex

Last month, a guy on an Aprilia RSV4 was next to me in the staging area. He leaned towards me and went:" What are 'ya doing here with your trail-bike?" Five minutes later I did the outside on him in a bowl turn and never looked back.
The entire day I made sure to line up behind him just to rub it in some more.
Have fun!

What Alex said. Get some rearsets (I do believe Woodcraft provide the most clearance) & set Your suspension properly. Sag, Compression, Rebound, RIDE HEIGHT: The "stinkbug" attitude with the ride height raised in the rear is the way to go.

Haha! Nice one mate!
As for setting it up for the track. If you intend to track it more regularly, sort out your suspension first. This will benefit street riding as well. Then you need to address the rear sets issue as 08hyperalohaalex said, ground clearance will be a problem at some time. You can fab your own or buy something off the shelf. Most of the rearsets I have seen are stupid expensive. I hear the Woodcraft stuff is good, but it´s >600$ which I find a little bit too much. In the end, it´s just rearsets.
Other than that, carry a 2nd handlebar... the stock stuff seems to break quite easily.

This is from my first trackday with Evo-Sp ...standard settings ,
Did kneescrape in the most corners and did some minor footpegpuck scrape too , but shure more clearance is nice
Going to check ride hight and see if there is room for improvment .

once you get everything sorted like stated above..its a very track worthy machine ..very few of my friends even on r1s,1098s and rsv4s cant touch me on the track..due to ridn skills more than bike..but remember me and alex have some high hp scootz!although he prolly has more skillz than i do...since we do both scrape our exhaust now instead of everything else!
