sargent seat or dp
Looking for comfort+functionality.. do you lose the ability to move quickly on the sargent seat but gain the ability to ride long distances with it? Pros and cons of both seats?
Feedback appreciated

I have the DP comfort seat. better than stock but not what I would call comfortable. It is lower though which is good for me. I would do the Sargent from what i hear if I had a do over.

Have the Sargent seat and only have the stock seat to compare it to. First thing you notice is it feels a lot more like a comfy chair in the way it holds you. Certainly flatter and wider in back and not as sloped forward. I wasn't happy sliding forward with the stock one. First time you sit in it you say "Ah, nice." Almost makes you wanna slouch. Rode it on two 3-day rides of about 900+ miles each and it's pretty comfy but I was still happy to have such a small gas tank to get me some time off of the bike. Granted, I have no ass to speak of so....
I still do some "spirited" riding and it lets you be plenty aggressive but I'd surely put the stock one back on if I ever take her to the track.

just bought my bike, came with the DP seat, rode 7hrs back from Austin to OKC on it last Sat, first time on a hyper coming from a zx14...seat started hurting my ass after about 30min, towards the end was pretty unbearable, had to take breaks every 100miles or so even though I have a 6gal tank. Considering going to a Sargent when I get the dough, one thing that helped was every so often sit back up on the back part of the seat to put a different part of my butt in contact, stretched my legs out too but felt so friggin high up...just getting used to the new riding position, always been on sportbikes before, never dirt. Love the way this thing drops into curves, a bit scary at first but the seat lets me slide across pretty easily to shift my weight around...

I have the sargent and love it. It does make it less natural to lean off the bike in my opinion. I had the DP race seat before.. Great for spirited riding.. Horrible over 150 miles.

I have the DP comfort seat and it's a fantastic upgrade over stock.
I was considering the Sargent but it's a lot of $$ for a seat...
