Question hypermotard 1100 and monster 1100 evo

I'm currently in the market for Ducati. Previously my shortlisted bikes was the Streetfighter, Hypermotard and Monster 1100 evo. But now I've opt out the streetfighter as it wouldn't be comfortable for daily commuting and also I'll be riding mostly cities. So I'm down to the hypermotard(with S or without and evo or evo sp) or monster 1100 evo. What are your thoughts and advice ? Just to note I prefer an up right riding position.

Thanks in advanced. :-)

I think you'll find the Monster more comfortable.

If you like an upright riding position then the Hyper is going to suit you better. It is like riding a dirt bike on the street.

Primarily the seat. The hyper seat is very much like a dirt bike.

Either one is good. They both have the same engine different chassis. The Monstro has a little bit more power because of a bigger airbox. You will not noticed the difference on the street. I don't like the looks of the monstro too much, but that is my opinion. The hyper is cool, it feels like you sit on the edge of the bike. The Monstro inspires confident on the turns it is lower than the hyper.

If money is not the issue I would go for the SF way more power. Superbike chassis and most of all the loooks. It looks like a Japanese anime bike, amazing! The only thing from what I hear that the SF is not great for commuting, but all of the Ducatis are not good for that. Euro emissions makes it hard below 3k rpms. Try all 3 and see which one feels right.

The streetfighter is actually surprisingly comfortable so wouldn't discount it I've got almost 12k on mine. I've done numbers of long trips 400 plus miles one way. The under 4k rough stumbling from fueling issues is probably the biggest detractor to the SF, tho I believe it was improved on later bikes, mine's an early one.

That said I looked at both the Hyper and monster evo this weekend. I plan to buy a hyper to keep the sf company in the garage. I did feel the monster evo is the best looking monster yet. I especially like the short pipes on the monster evo. I've owned two older model monsters and they're exc. around town, commute type bikes as mine were.

Anyway I've always thought that the monster would be good for day in day out riding as that will be my only form of transportation. But on the other hand I have a fun bike, which I can do some kind of weekend track day and still I can use it for daily commuting. I've also understand that both bikes are using different clutch system. What are your views and exprience about that?

How tall are you? Any less than about a 33" inseam and you'll be a tripod on a hyper.

Essentially it comes down to height ergonomics and price. Essentially shy of some styling cues, they are the same collection of parts arranged in slightly different ways. Both are fun, both will suit your purpose well. Ridem both then buy the one you like.

Hmmmm. That's really a tough choice for me. Right now I'm scaling it down to the clutch system on both bike. As best of my knowledge, the dry clutch is not as tough as the wet ones. How is it in terms of performance?
