First spill
Yep , I did it! Nice ride throughout the mountains, just finished a nice section where the road is great for the Hyper, going a little slower through a not so good asphalt, over a crest followed by a left turn, must have wondered a little or something, coming over the crest, seeing the left turn, grabbed my brake and the front just went away I think cause coming over the crest there was no traction or load on my front so the tire blocked and I slid, no time for reaction, slid around 15 to 20 meters, the bike stopped on the wooden electric post and I 1 meter before that... The protection I was wearing did a great job, specially the elbow protector that took a big hit, closed my arm next to my body and it took the big hit with no consequences to my elbow, my upper thigh has taken a good hit, although wearing dainese underpants with protection, I thing they did their job but still it hurts like a mo'fo! . The bike needs some work, mostly plastic and the clutch lever with whatever is on that side, it is a good opportunity to change to looks of the bike , will post pictures soon.
On another note, there are discussion about abs and other gizmos and people with different opinion, well in this situation it would have saved my ass.
I think if I had abs I wouldn't have fallen.....

Glad you're okay, and it sounds like the damage to the bike was minimal.
My last bike had ABS. I rode it for over 50,000 miles and engaged the ABS once. It's the one thing I wish the Hyper had.

With monoblocs, that one finger better be your pinky.

Glad you're ok. Time for some cool upgrades to make yourself feel better.
ABS wouldn't have helped if the tire was unweighted anyway and who's to say if it could have reacted in time when the tire resumed contact and slid.
No offense intended J, but if your are going to Monday-morning quaterback this, use it to figure out what YOU could have done better.

None taken alhough I am not familiar with the Monday-morning quarterback thingy but I think I understand what you mean. ( we play football with our feet and a round ball )
My personal opinion is that ABS wouldn't have helped much in this situation, although my riding mates thought it would have, there are many factors that helped me to fall but the biggest one is ME, I was not concentrating on my riding as much as I was looking a the guy in front of me... the other factors THAT i SHOULD HAVE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION are: bad asphalt, not so good tires, bad front end... it is time for those race tech springs

Sorry about the quarterback thingy. I forget how international this forum is sometimes. FWIW, it's a reference to our football, specifically the Sunday afternoon games and how guys will say things after the game is over like "Why didn't he pass to that guy, he was clearly open, that would have won the game right there." Hindsight is 20/20, type thing.
Anywho, yes, I have been caught offguard with my mind wandering onto other things while I was riding. Dangerous stuff, I am glad you lived to realize what you did wrong.
I know it's a lot of reading but we are finally making some headway on the front fork thread that Kristnet started back a while ago. I put in some new springs from Traxxion Dynamics and absolutely love them. Also, the hot ticket, the thing that seems to make the biggest difference, seems to be changing the oil to something more compatible with the valving/spring combo. Even if you leave the stock springs changing the oil makes a difference.
Something to think about while you're healing.
Dave
