Gotham Cycles Lightweight Flywheel
Has anybody used this lightweight flywheel from Gotham?
Gotham Cycles - The Ducati Parts Specialist
Gotham Cycles is a top notch retailer and this part comes with the two lock nuts, but I'm concerned this flywheel might be too light. I have a Nichols flywheel on my 748, but for $200 plus $50 for the lock nuts (that never got installed), this flywheel from Gotham looks like a better deal for my 08 Hyper...if it's not too light. Any thoughts or experience with it anybody?
P.S. Gotham has great deals on Zard exhaust, just ordered the collectors to go with the 2-2 Termi I got on.

If it's not as light as the 848 piece I'm down, I'm going to order it and swap it in when I fix the stuck shifter bull sh!t problem. Thanks for the info guys.

Haha....This time I get to tell you that you're wrong Mike....
The one Gotham is selling is only 9ozs (aluminum).
The 848 flywheel weighs 2.2lbs (steel).
The stock Hyper flywheel weighs something like 4.1lbs (steel).
The Nichols flywheel weighs in at 10ozs (aluminum).
The one I put in my Hyper is actually a milled down Testastretta one from a race team and it weighs just over 1lb, 3oz.
Personally, I think the Nichols, and now the SSR, flywheels are too light for the street. I think they would be great for a track-bound bike but again, just my opinion.

Having the flywheel on the 748 makes it turn so much nicer. I think I'll pull the trigger on the nine oncer anyways and see how it feels.

I have the slingshot version. I have no rideability problems at all with it. It feels like this is the way the bike should've been from the factory. It does expose the grabby dry clutch, but that is the extent of the negatives in my experience.
