Proud owner of a RED 1100 S

I've been looking and looking for a nice Hyper and found numerous demo bikes local but taking the advice of the forum I waited....

Found a 08 Red Hyper 1100S 1700 miles with full 2 and 1 termi and open clutch assembly. Rode it when I got home and what a great bike!!! The sound from the exhaust is incredible, I've had all kinds of bikes and the exhaust note from the termi is amazing!!!. Rode it for two hours straight without my back hurting at all, can't wait to get out in the morning and go for a nice ride.

Next step is to put frame sliders, and get rid of those stupid mirrors, already smacked a few cars splitting lanes. Also I ALWAYS swap out the throttle tube for a 1/4 turn, do you guys know both the R1 or R6 has shorter pull, but which one is more? Also now I know why everyone swaps out the seat, stock seat pushes you too forward right? What else should I do to the bike, maybe small windshield?

Thanks for everyones help, I've been lurking the forum for about a month now reading and reading and all your threads have helped!!!

Can't wait till the morning!!!!

Are these bikes prone to tank slappers? Or is more a headshake issue?

I have a scotts steering dampner on my dirtbike so if I get a mount I should be good to go, does ducati sell just the mount?

Thanks

I don't use a damper on my Hyper and have never felt the need for one, but I also have had the front end done with RachTech springs. The front end on stock Hypers I've ridden don't feel as stable as mine I must admit.

On the seat i recommend the Sargent seat, although opinions vary and many like the Ducati Performance seat.

Sliders vary all over the place in price, starting with the cheapie T-Rex, which will set you back 35 or so for ach axle and 75 oor so for the frame. I like (and have) the Speedymoto sliders, which were about 60 and 150 respectively.

There's no end in site to what you can do to make your Hyper be better for you. Enjoy your bike.

Hazzbin did you do the springs yourself? I put new spring and valves on my YZ forks and it wasn't too bad. What weight rider are the original springs for? 160lb?
