red wheels
So i have a 2011 Hyper Evo SP and I'm really in love with the red wheels of the 848 Evo when the bike comes in the white trim... what are the thoughts on powder coating my stock wheels from black to red? I'm running the White trim on my hyper
feedback appreciated.

That gives Mi an idea. Invert the wheel's colour scheme by changing the red pinstriping to black after the red powdercoating. I've never seen that before.

personally i would paint and clear coat them, (much better finish and shine IMO) i did my rear in high gloss blk, and front wheel in black and white as i was after a match box toy look, and i think the pinstripe makes the rims look small as they draw your eyes down...anyway here is a snap of mine
there was a pic on hear a week or so ago blk hyper with orange wheels looked killer!!

Powdercoat is 10 times more durable than paint. No matter how many times you clearcoat paint on a rim....it looks like crap in a few months.

If you're gonna paint them, use Imron. It will last as long as powdercoating and almost as durable. Have someone do it for you if you don't the right respirator and equipment.

i appreciate all the techniques and opinions on paint vs powdercoating..
just to be clear i'd powdercoat the wheels...
now that that's out of the way, if it wasn't clear in the first post, what are everyones opinions on how the red wheels would LOOK?
i'll prob get posts like 'do whatever you like' so is this thread pointless?

I think any change should be good. I went with a gold powdercoat and enjoyed it for a while, i'm leaning toward a gloss black next. I'm super into the DAY GLO bright wheel thing right now, trying to figure out what color florescent might look tasty with my red hype. I also like the split centerline two tone that can look amazing.
