stupid newbie question about ECU

I have the Termi 2-1 on my 09 1100s. How does one know if it has the ECU installed? I bought the bike used so I did not put the Termi unit on. What are the advantages or disadvantages to having it or not? Thanks

when you turn the ignition key to the start position, the display will scroll text across the bottom. the 2-1 ecu will cause the display to read "HYM RACING EVO".

also, if you have the termi 2-1 exhaust installed, the ox sensor is most likely not installed, and with the stock ecu, that would throw up error codes on the display.

I wondered the same thing, so I typed in the number from the sticker on the ECU below the barcode into a google search. Right away came up as ECU for Term.

And that's why I like this place; you can ask questions and not have people make fun of you. AND, if they do, they're promptly scolded by the veterans and if they're just plain old belligerent they're asked to leave. Nice to find forums that are about common passions and not about proving how cool you think you are.
