Help! 2008 HM1100S Stalls When Hot
Bike sat all winter & spring with a tank full of Sta-Bil and Lucas FI cleaner -treated Ultra in the tank. Started-up and ran fine. Took it for a ride to burn off the old gas. When it got hot, it wouldn't idle. Filled-up the tank with fresh ultra and more Sta-Bil/Lucas. Runs fine otherwise. Let it sit for a week. Starts, runs, and idles fine UNTIL the engine oil temp gets to 200 deg F, then it won't idle. What gives? TPS? ISC? ECM? Thought about hitting each component with freon a la my old EE lab bench days to try and isolate the electronic culprit thats misbehaving when hot. Runs strong, even when it won't idle, so I'm assuming it's not ignition-related coils/plugs/wires, etc.) Any ideas? I don't have the service manual, nor do I feel like throwing expensive non-returnable electronic parts at the thing hoping I guess correctly. I'd like to avoid the local theives, er, um, Ducati Dealer @ $100/hr if at all possible as well. Any help would be appreciated.
PS, Bike is stock except for the dealer-installed (at delivery in '07) 2-2 Termi slip-on kit with the ECM and Air Box lid upgrades (Cat and EXUP are still in place)
