Stock Evo sp VS loaded 1100S?
So, the Hyper bug has burrowed into my brain and I've managed to convince myself against all better judgement that I not only want one, I NEED one.
To keep the costs down a bit I have been looking at a few used '08s and some demo '10 evo SP's. I know the SP has some improvements over the earlier models, but how do a stock Evo SP and a loaded 1100s stack up?
It seems there are a bunch of nice, low mileage 1100s' out there with the 2-1 termi and other mod$ for around the 10k mark, while the stock demo bike is still a few grand above that and at the absolute top of my price range. There would be no cash for upgrades for a long time.
What is one more likely to regret, not having the "latest greatest" in the current model, or not having that termi system, DP cams, etc. etc.?
Has anybody gone through this decision lately?

Hyper or Hyper EVO SP
I recently bought a new 2011 after over a year of serous thought. I had it down to either 08 or 09 Evo (with the mono-block front calipers)
or a brand new one with the cool black forks, better oil cooler, more ground clearance. re-vamped EFI, new dash, single spark plug per head, Etc...
Now the most important features Im happy to posses in my bike is the
F. brakes and nicer Rims. That being said im sure I would have been equivalent happy with a 08 with those features, but it was worth me spending an extra 5k for the latest and greatest + warranty.

Not unlike you two, I researched for a year before the purchase. I came to grips with the fact that I am not going to race this machine, those days are over for me. Knowing the history of the bike and what it has been through is important to me as is a warranty. I opted to purchase a new left over 2010 Evo 1100 last month and spent some of the savings that would have been the forged wheels and upgraded front brakes on a Termi 2 into 1 exhaust system and a Scotts steering stabilizer for it. The dealer worked with me on the cost of the bike and also gave me an extra set of body work in black to change the color from red to black. There are deals to be had out there, you just need to decide what is important to you prior to making the jump.

If you dont mind working on the bike I would get the older one. 99% of the fun owning a bike is customizing it. My o8 with 1200 miles was 8k and included 1800 in accessories.

Thanks for the responses guys. I need to pull the trigger on this ASAP and am still a bit on the fence. Luxury problems I know.
Basically there is around 2k separating a bone stock 2011 Evo SP and an 08 hyper S complete with;
-Full Termi 2-1
-DP race cams and ECU
-DP slipper clutch
-MWR air filter
-DP cpmfort seat
-Frame and wheel sliders
-Carbon farkles
Basically, are those parts (assuming about 5k worth originally?) too good to pass up? bike also has under 2k miles on it.

Buy the older 08 S with serious modery or '11 with warranty? That's a toughie but in the end I'd buy the one with the mods.

Again, Street use? Track use? Commuting? Hooliganism? newer technology? older technology? Do you know the previous owner? Is the 08 customized to meet your standards? Are you going to have to add things? Do you want to be the one customizing to your standards? If you are not racing it is the slipper a plus? Are these things you would buy anyway? This decision is yours to make bro. I would go new, but everyone is different.

Agh I am in the same boat... Used 08 S with termi and DP slipper clutch + a bunch of other mods for $11k OTD vs a new bike 12-13k OTD. Only reason I would consider it is because the used bike has all of the mods that I would do and it's worth more than the price diff.
Seems like the 2V 1100 engine is pretty reliable... Any opinions on the risk of picking up an 08 with <4000 miles that is out of warranty and has not had the 4k service? Obviously it depends on prev owner's habits but in general what do you guys think.
