So hows the new ZX10R for casual street riding? I am sure it will be fantastic on track, but these new Japanese sportbikes are so track focused (like the new ZX10R) that I wonder how much it affects their streetability (is that even a word?)

A straight up ride(796) versus full tuck-feet back-lay on the tank (ZX)and you think thats a daily rider ???
you got to be kidding
Ive ridden a 10 and there awesome , for about 20 mins then its time ti get off and work out the kinks.
I think your inner hooligan is going to get loose on the street too.
Your choice. Good luck

I can see his point. The 796 is great for twisty work....but not so good on slow city traffic and red lights. The clutch engagement is jerky...not much hp....the fueling below 4k leaves much to be desired...and the left leg gets mighty burnt up being so close to that pipe at redlights.
It's not enough negative to sell mine...but i see his point. I think the 14t countershaft will make mine more rider friendly. I can put up with the rest because of the light weight and great handling.

1 no "twisty work" in Fla
2 flash ECU..no more slow jerky
3 plenty HP for normal people
4 ++ 14T
5 get a scooter for slow city traffic

I regularly commute with the Hyper. It's a perfect commuter with great visibility. I have no issues with stop and go. And EXSPECHULLY with summer heat, the Hyper is much better suited for in town than a water cooled anything.
I still ride the SF to work once a week, more comfortable than the Hyper, but such silliness to ride it in commuter traffic.
