Can't make it work! VDST
I have issues configuring my VDST:
1- When I try to configure the USB connection controller and com I can't have it on the com3 only com9? Is it a big problem, I don't know? When I look in the port I don't see any others but when I try to change the com9 to com3 it says that com3 is already in use?
2- When I connected first the VDST to the bike I notice that on the 3 pin connector of:
-the VDST only left & right were used and center was empty(no wire)
-the bike the center & left were used and right is empty(no wire)
So my logic tell me that something is wrong but maybe...
3- When I connect to the bike I can't establish connection but anyways I think that I need to solve 1 & 2 before...
Thanks

There is a FAQ on Technoresearches site on the USB/Serial port setup. You should make sure that the settings in the computer are the correct ones for the USB/Serial adapter. Hope this helps....
PART ONE
Do I need specific settings for these adapters?
A: Part 1: For the Keyspan, YES: Go to: All programs then Keyspan USB Serial Adapter.
Run the Keyspan Serial Assistant.
Under Properties set endpoints to: High Performance (Bulk);
Transmit Completion Timing Advance to: Faster; and
Receive FIFO Buffer Size to: 63.
PART TWO (just explains how to tell which port is being used by the USB/Serial Adapter)
If1. If Microsoft XP Operating System is in use, use the following steps:
->Start Menu
-> ControlPanel
A. Classic View in use:
-> System
->Hardware Tab
-> Device Manager
-> Ports (COM & LPT)
*Note Communications Port number that is present or in use
B. Category View in use:
-> Printers and Other Hardware
->Upper Left System Option
-> Hardware Tab
-> Device Manager
-> Ports (COM & LPT)
*Note Communications Port number that is present or in use
C. Classic View in use:
-> Performance & Maintenance
-> System
->Hardware Tab
-> Device Manager
-> Ports (COM & LPT)
*Note Communications Port number that is present or in use
2. If Microsoft Windows 95,98, ME Operating Systems are in use, use the following steps:
->Start Menu
-> Settings
-> Control Panel
-> System
-> Device Manager Tab
-> Ports (COM & LPT)
*Note Communications Port number that is present or in use

Finally figured it out, the problem was that I had blue shoes on, just changed for black ones and it was fixed...:-)
I played with the port setting in the VDST software and got it to work.
Thanks for the help.

If you ever see on the launch where it cycles thru the ports, it is having an issue with communicating to the ecu. Most times restart the software, worse case is reboot the computer. Your settings should stick, but it doesnt hurt to paste that shit into notepad for just in case.
