Would this bike be comfortable for a decent ride....a week or so? Thinking of a trip out west.

I'm not comfortable after 50 miles. Others on here have had better luck, but I've never really heard anyone call it touring material...

I did 2000km on a 4 days 3 nights trip. Maximum distance i clocked in a day is 650km, 5 hrs ride. I maintain 150kph on the highway. No hand numbness, no butt pain and not tired. Apart from the storage and small tank issue, the bike has the capacity to tour. ^_^
Looking forward for another trip out again.

Bike is comfy, but I did have to redo the seat to memory foam, and install a Fabri windshield, other than the small tank, she's fine. Aloha Alex

The seat sucks. I have the comfort seat which was installed at the dealership before I picked it up and it is not comfortable at all. I have never tried the stock seat but the general consensus is that it is even more uncomfortable.
It doesn't matter to me because the Hyper is my fun bike and I use the BMW for long distance.

I have done several 5 hours rides. I get numb fingers now that I put Zeta bars on. I had them before, but now they are worse. I also have the racing seat which isn't any better than any of the other seats by the sound of it.
I'd say the lack of range is a benefit to this bike. I am usually ready for a break after 110 miles. And I am usually recharged after a gas and water break. I think I could do about 8 hours on the bike before I would need a hotel and a beer.
What others have said. The cost of the bike being so damn fun and sexy is the lack of comfort. In my opinion, it is well worth it.

I have the comfort seat and the dp windscreen, i ve done five hours ride two up with a huge tank bag, it is a ducati one I think made originally for the monster, it fits nice on the hyper, gives you something to lean on with your left arm on long straights...

After break-in, the racing seat is actually much more comfortable than the stocker. But I agree totally with freezer, after 200km you'll need a break.

I've done a couple of 250-300 mile days (6 or 7 hours of back roads riding with a couple of breaks to stretch, get gas, and eat lunch). No issues with comfort.
(Zeta bars, Spyder grips, DP Comfort seat, no wind screen... yet... )
