need help with my dead duc
I went down sunday. The bike is a total loss. I faired pretty well had all my gear on.
my question is, what is the value of the bike? 2010 hyper 1100 evo with 2200 miles. ins said the would look at market value within 150 miles and cut me check. since there aren't may hypers around I couldn't find any 2010s. only new ones for sale within 150 miles. looking at kbb and nada high number is 10,700. what does everybody think is an reasonable amount i should take.

Removing any aftermarket items I would say that would be in the ballpark, I bought a 2010 Friday 5/13 and it's bb value new was 11K. Glad to hear you got out relatively unscathed. Lunsfords has an 1100 SP waiting for ya.

look on cycletrader.com -usually there pricing is higher and tell them this is what its going to take to replace it.you might have to negotiate with themto get the highest value. also check to see if they give you tax and lic fees back as my ins comapany does!!!

From my experience with State Farm when I totalled my first hyper in 09 was; 1) they would look at four comparable moto within 150 mile radius (if none, they would go out further). 2) They would gather that four moto from highest to lowest and will base the value on what is the average i.e. 9K low and 13K high, average around 10.5 to 11.5. minus your deductible 3) Your mods/accessories if they elect to pay, will only get 50% of the value (i know because that is what I got). 4) If you are with State Farm they will pay for your helmet, damaged or not.
Good luck and hope you were not seriously hurt.

12,800 sounds pretty good. How did you wreck? Will you be shopping for another hyper?
My mom in law just totaled one of my cars last week. My insurance paid me 13k for a chevy HHR I bought two years ago for $9k. So sweet!

I hope you didn't tell your mom in law how much they paid you and used this incident to get favors all your life!!!! ( good food delivered at home, taking care of the kids, and never drop in without a formal invitation... lol )
hope she is fine though...

^ Best advice in the world....
Always treat the Mom in law with the highest regards...
She should always be welcomed with a smile and open arms...
Always greet at the door , make a point to stop Whatever you are doing and greet Imediately at the door ,Say to the Wifey I'll get the door ...
It WILL pay dividends ...
The Mom in law usually holds the purse strings.. She is the one who will buy the new appliances when her daughter finds THE MAN and moves in with him...
If you get her on your side Life Will be a lot easier...
Forget about the Father in law ...you are doing his daughter , they will tolerate you at best , anything alse better than that will be a bonus...
Look at the Mom in law like you want to do her (as painful as that may be)
Ha Ha ..
I speak the TRUTH...
Hope the OP heals up fast and well...
Time to start looking forward...
Get the Ducati of your dreams ....
That gravel is a menace....
I have come close many times and try to always look farther ahead in corners...
Sort of scares yuh at first but reacting is a better option...
Good Luck ,with the next page of your riding experience...
