7500 service - really?
Bike is due for its 7500 service and the stealer says about $600 notes (excluding oil change) and it includes a valve adjustment which is a rather large job and they need the bike all day.
is this correct?

I think my total was 350-ish with a valve and belt adjustment. When I took mine in, I said just do the major stuff and I'll take care of the fluids and other little things myself. You don't need to pay a service tech to check your chain Might as well throw money at him as you wheelie by. Now I'm comfortable with replacing and adjusting belts it's one more service item I can take off the list for next time. Someday I'll get around to learning valve work. Maybe I can practice on the wife's Monster 620

I know - it sucks. Wish it could make it to at least 12k miles like the new multi

Mine was $1700.
But then again the dealer in Oklahoma where the bike was knew he had me by the short hairs as I was in Alaska.
They put new clutch plates in, new belts, flushed the fluids (both brakes and oil), ohh and they put it in a crate, horribly so, so I could have MY shipper pick up the bike. Which they originally quoted me $100-$200 to do. But then the owners wife felt he under quoted me, so they told me to "take the bike to someone else", again Im in Alaska, the bike is in Tulsa, so I said how 'bout if you do the 7500 mile service would that help with you loading it into a crate? Sure did, and they got me.
So, $600? Expensive? Yes. But not $1700 expensive.

Well my 600 miles service was 325, its looks like you need to have
the 600,7500,15,000 done by a dealer or you void your warranty.
should be a while before i need the 7500

My bike is over two years old since it was warranty registered anyway so my warranty is probably gone.
I'm in a dilema as I have the DP Cams to install, but no ECU as I was planning to get a PCv with Autotune by now. I guess I'm going to check on doing the valves and belts myself and have the cams done later as I want them indexed for performance.
My friend Joe (Yellow Cake) did his valves and said they were easy. I have access to a Yamaha-Honda-Polaris-Victory Dealership as my best friend owns it. The Techs there will help me out and I'll have a bay and everything to myself. They just don't know Ductais and their Desmodronic valves.

The original price was $830 and I said don't do the oil I can do that and they said $600.(I think they were too high to start as no way oil is $230)
I called another stealer and they said $575 base plus $200 tops for the timing belts (I assume 2 of them), brake fluid another $130 therefore nailing me to the cross for $825.
The person that I bought the bike used from had the extended warranty which I easily transferred for $40 or so, so I need to check if the extended warranty voids if I don't have servicing as per schedule.

I was awaiting the Mid Sized Tank and figured there was no way I was going to put that many miles on in 6 months... WRONG! It was not that bad to tear down. The best money spent is to get the shim kit. I bought the kit when I had my ST3s, then added the S2R, then the Hyper... all tuned using the one kit. I think I've done six valve jobs. So it has more than paid for itself.
