Exhaust sounds like a Harley...I'm not thrilled.
I am running stock head pipes, Leo Vince cat delete, Spark flapperless mid pipe and a cored stock muffler. The bike has a good rumble at idle but once under way it has more of a stock piped Harley sound. I guess I will give in and start trying to buy or build a slip-on.
1 Does anyone know where to buy good looking universal mufflers? (like the Mivv, SC's, FMF Apex...)
2 Do any of the single sided pipes come with the plate bracket and side fairings or should I add that into the cost of buying those as well?
3 Does anyone have a Spark stock location slip-on? They look good but how do they sound?

Go to a local bike night, and listen to other Ducati air-cooled engines, and see which exhaust sound you like best. Aloha Alex

... and remember that it sounds different when riding.
Let someone ride your bike, and listen to the sound before doing anything crazy.

I will try to find more local ducs once the nice weather returns. I want a more clean "brrrraaapp" when I crack the throttle, not the muddy thuuuuuuwwwwmmppp the tail pipe excretes now. I don't care how it sounds to others this is for my enjoyment I hope getting away from the stock chambered junk for a straight through core will fix the sound.

custom build, my advice ...just buy a muffler and wack it on...make sure you get the muffler clamp and an exhust shop can knock a bracket up for you...stuff is so cheap in the USA your lucky take advantage of that man
i had this built from the sc-project pic...muffler from moto-wheels in Ca...(QD magnum series) john
also for noise have a look on youtube ..lots of hypers on there inc a silly clip of mine

The DS1100 engine definitely has a more lumpier V-Twin sound than other incarnation of the 2V engine. The 900cc incarnation of the 2V might have been the best sounding one ever. My 900SS sounds soooo much better than my Hyper. The 900SS sounds like a V4 while the Hyper does have that Harley-ish sound.
I like the way the Hyper sounds but the sound that the 900SS makes is absolutely intoxicating.
