How many miles is the engine good for?
Curious to see how many miles people have on their Hypers and what has needed to be done to the high mileage ones.

the desmo duo motors are fairly bullet-proof, if you maintain them properly (i.e.: oil/filter changes with quality oil, check/replace belts as required, check/adjust valves as required).
i have just under 24,000 miles on my 08 hypertard now.
had well over 50,000 on my 900ss.

The 1100ds motor isn't much different than the motor that all started with a couple of decades ago.I know of 2 valve monsters with 100,000kms on them with only a couple of shim changes.

That's because you keep insisting on running a stock motor with no modifications... The more mods, the longer life. Right...?
I don't have that many miles on my 796 - 10K. But I did take it to Alaska this summer just because the nay-sayers thought it was a bad idea. No issues.
