Dyna bead wheel balancing
Does anyone have any experience or recommendations using Dyna Beads for balancing the rear wheel? I've mounted new tires but I am having a hard time finding any dealers in the Cincinnati area who can properly balance our offset, single-sided rear wheel.
Thx

peter (dukepilot: http://www.ducati.ms/forums/19342-dukepilot.html ) has run dynabeads in his bikes for a few years now ... i bet he can provide you with some insight.

I've had them for about 7,000mi or so. I was pretty anal about static balancing, and the Dynabeads were much smoother than anything I ever felt.
BTW, you can get Hyper cones for static balancers if you want to go that route:
Ducati Motorcycle Wheel Balancer
I bought my Dynabeads from JC, a forum sponsor:
JC/PAKBIKES
One note, it is cautioned to not use Dynabeads on the track because the carcass of the tire gets warm enough for the beads to embed themselves and not float around.
Mine have been perfectly smooth in some triple digit bursts.
Have a good one.

I never bother balancing rear tires for street or track.Once you mount the wheel with chain and sprocket on the bike,it's out of balance anyway.Dyna beads are for Semi's and Goldwing tourers. And the same folks use octane booster.

We have run Dyna Beads in our Alpina Tubeless Spoke wheels on our Sport Classics for some time now with excellent results.
No nasty weights to mar the beautiful Wheels
The tires seem to wear more evenly and the ride is smoother.
You will need 1 ounce in the front and 2 ounces in the rear
The MC kit is $20 shipped Comes with Applicator

The dynabeads work (on the street, no track use). As minusone said, they can be messy when it comes time to change tires. You can vacuum most of them out and reuse them although that's a big PIA.

I've had my back wheel balanced in a auto tire shop twice, static balanced once using HD steering head bearings as spacers.

dont worry about it, no need to balance the rear. i havent yet and its fine three times at any speed. now the front is very important and you will feel vibes from it.
just my two cents
