peg scraping
Did a track day yesterday on the evo sp, awesome day. A truly fun amazing bike that gave the big boy bikes a huge scare
Now i know that this is not news to anyone but ground clearance really is this bikes only negative. So much for the evo fixing this problem. It is very unnerving to be cornering and have the peg hit the ground before your knee does.
So i was just wondering.....how is everyone coping with this? Do i need to adjust my riding style or are aftermarket rearsets really giving everybody the clearance they need? At over 600 bucks for some rearsets they better work

I don't knee drag, but I do have my Hyper "jacked up" as high as possible & I have the DP rearsets, pricy but very nice. Aloha Alex

Rear sets will do the trick. But the stock folding pegs actually provide warning without "disturbing" the bike like a fixed peg can. Once you get used to the peg hitting it's not too bad.

I have Woodcrafts on mine. I got the Woodcrafts mainly because I felt that the bike need a better footpeg positioning than stock. I am/was concerned about scraping pegs, but if you watch the video of Ruben Xaus powersliding an '08 1100S through a turn with stock pegs, you'll learn to appreciate the power of changing your riding style a bit.

You can do what i did and replace them with the stock folding pegs off of either a multistrada or monster (can't remember), regardless they were inexpensive and i liked the fact they fold up. You might find some on ebay for next to nothing. You may have to sand down one of the sides on a belt/disc sander ( mine were 1mm too wide to fit into the peg mount), but since they're soft aluminum, it takes a minute to do and i like it way better than the stock peg which just never felt right to me.
