First twisty ride on the new 796
Holy crap.....i am amazed. On the 100 mile ride to the Mountains....i hated the front forks....and didn't much care for the rear shock either.....so i was expecting a shit ride through the twisties. Man was i wrong. This thing rails the corners. I've owned 64 motorcycles and the only two bikes that had more corner speed was a 88 Slingshot....and a Yamaha 125 GP factory road racer.
Corner entry speed is insane. It could use some better front brake pads like the EBC HH ...but i'm just amazed. Ducati might have built this bike just for me. 200 miles of Interstate and another 150 miles of solid corners....and i'm not even tired. BTW...the seat sucks bigtime. My ass is sore.
My left boot is ground off half an inch...and my right boot about a quarter inch. Still have a sixteenth inch wide chicken strip on the rear and over an eighth inch wide on the front. I'll get rid of those next week.

congrats on the bike! Im in the process of getting a 796 Hyper as well. I test rode it. Bike is soo much fun. Could use a little bit more balls, but Im willing to sacrifice performance for comfort and fun factor. Are u gonna throw on Termis? I feel the bike despiretly needs an exhaust

Iam soo tempted to say F*ck it and spend the extra 2k for the 100, but in all honesty, for what Im using the bike for, Its not necessary. I still want to test ride a Monster and Streetfighter just to compare. I hear the SF is an animal. But its 15k

I can't afford the Termi can. I'm considering making removeable baffles for the stock cans. I need a little noise.

sounds like you are a happy customer! As for the EBC HH's. I own them and they are an improvement over stock. The initial bite isn't nearly as good as vesrah's though. Vesrah didn't make a pad for the hyper when I bought the EBC's. I would check to see if you can get RJL's. You will not be dissapointed. I've used them for the past 5 years on my track bike.

Thanks. Didn't know the Vesrah pads have more intial bite than the EBC's. I'll try the Double H first. Where did you buy yours from? Are you considering upgrading the front forks yet?

Υοu are really lucky..
In Europe the 796 Hypermotard costs 10,000 euros..
This means 15,000$
I never understood why european products such as cars or bikes are so much cheaper in the US

Taxing probably. In Brazil a 796 costs 22,000$ due to taxes.
