Ducati 796 Mirror problems

So the other day i was riding and i noticed my right mirror was VERY loose... like about to fall off......but all the bolts were VERY tight. It seems like the inside plastic of the mirror itself is stripped.....Anyone have the same problem? Any quick tips....I have been just folding them in and look behind me when i ride now.

Got a screw loose?

Im not sure if it was quite the same problem you have but my mirrors were loose and never stayed in position no matter how tight the lock nuts were done up. Turned out the screw at the back of the nuckle joint was loose. Stuck a lil thread lock on them before tightening those suckers up and now my mirrors are rock solid at all speeds !

No i checked the single screw on the knuckle and they are extremely tight.... the plastic screw is tight also but my mirror is still floppy... like the inside is stripped.

you can fold the mirror in and on the back there is a Philip screw that you can check if its loose.

My 796 (purchased Dec 18 2010) came with the wrong internal brass handle bar compression fittings .... my dealer took care of it sent the correct fittings to my door..... No Charge. The fix correctwd the looseness. I have since trashed the plastic guards and went to Zetta bars, clamp,.....and Aprillia mirrors.
