New airbox cover

No doubt this has been covered here at some stage but I would like to know the best way to change out the airbox c over that comes with the Termi slip-ons.
The Termi's are on, the airbox is my next step.
Q1, Do I need to remove the fuel tank or can I just prop the tank up and do the get to the airbox?
Q2. Is this replacement cover even needed?
Q3. What is the advantage over the stock piece?

I have a very limited w/shop area to do any work, so I'd rather not attemp a huge 'strip down' if possible.
Any help is always welcomed with open arms.

1. No you can prop up the tank. Open the straps and free up the cables on tank to give you enough room to work.

2. Yes it gives the bike more much needed air.

3. Bike will run better.

Did you put in a new ECU?

Havent done the install on the ECU, going to let the tech do that at my local shop.
I wanted to do as much as I could to minimise time in the shop. He's real busy and I wanted to jump the queue by giving him a little job rather than having to wait at the end of queue with a big job. (sneaky)

If your capable of fitting the Termi`s, then the air box lid is easy, (maybe a bit fiddly) while your at it, plug in the new ECU, then your dealer just needs to set things up for you.....Job done.

The ECU is very easy to install. It is under the right side tank cover. I installed my air box lid with my tank propped up. I also drilled a hole in the bottom of the box with a hole saw while I was in there. There should be directions on how to do that in the sport classic forum, if I remember correctly.
