I use a 15/43 (stock is 15/42) I find that now I can hit redline in 6th, and still have freeway legs. IMHO I would not go to a 14t front due to possible chain concerns with a modded motor.
My MODII is a highly modified engine, if my engine was stock I might use a 15/44 combo.

I also us a 520 set-up with a Supersprox sprocket, it has outer steel teeth and a alminum center. Just use a high quality chain. Aloha Alex

wow I am about to do the same thing on my 1100 hyper and I am actually thinking going down one tooth on the rear to give it a little lower RPM on the highway at 65 - 75 mph. It can wheelie no prob 1st and 2nd so I do not understand why you guys would go up one in the rear? Why do u need more low end and does it run that much quicker going down one in the rear?
I have 2-1-2 Termi with Zard header.
Thanks

It's not necessarily about the low end. For some it is about the top end.

Currently, stock or even with the mods that you have, you probably cannot hit redline (flashy light thingy) in 6th gear, without a tailwind and a lot of space. Dropping 1 tooth on the front, or my personal favorite, bumping 1 or 2 teeth up on the rear will allow you to run your bike to redline (flashy light thingy) in 6th, thereby netting you an actual higher top speed if done moderately.

Plus it wheelies easier in the lower gears!!!

Do you need a larger chain if you go up a tooth on the rear?

What about 2 teeth up in the rear, do you think can get away with adjusting?
